Who said that World Diabetes Day had to be consigned to one day? To support the Global Walk campaign which aims to raise international awareness of diabetes on World Diabetes Day each year, the Brighton Group arranged their own series of events, held over two days.

Following on from the launch of the Global Walk campaign in September at Brighton & Hove Albion FC, the players from the Brighton club took part in their own walk at the Falmer training ground, alongside members from the Brighton group, as part of the Albion in the Community initiative. The First Team Squad are seen wearing Global Walk t-shirts and were accompanied by players from the Seagulls Specials too. There was also a short segment of the players' walk shown on Meridian Tonight in which the event was covered and several players interviewed.

Then on Sunday 18th November, 20 very brave individuals braved the most torrential rain and winds to participate in a local awareness walk in Preston Park, Brighton. It was cold, blustery and VERY wet, so the dedication was impressive to say the least! Thanks to all who attended and made a difference to this cause.
