World Diabetes Day 2008
Each year, World Diabetes Day is commemorated on 14th November to raise global awareness of diabetes.
To mark the occasion, and despite media interest being centred around Children In Need, 40 people from the Brighton group formed a human-chain around one of the gardens at Brighton’s infamous Royal Pavillion to mark the event, linking country flags from around the world between one another.

The group would also like to thank Marie from Floral Inspiration in Rottingdean for raising money for Diabetes UK by selling home-made cupcakes for the charity, all of which stuck firmly to World Diabetes Day’s ‘blue’ theme.

2008’s campaign focuses on diabetes in children and aims to raise further international awareness of Type 1 diabetes in this age-group. For more information, visit the World Diabetes Day website.
