Care for a Cuppa

One of Diabetes UK's national fundraising projects - launched by Coronation Street star Kym Marsh - came to Brighton over two separate events; one in Peacehaven, the other in central Brighton.

With a theme of tea, coffee and 'healthier cakes' - including ones made with parsnips and courgettes! - and socialising, both afternoons flew by. The events gave participants a chance to meet and have a natter, whilst raising money for Diabetes UK. The Brighton group would like to thank Kathy Doughty and Bridie Ashton for transforming their respective homes into tea party 'boutiques' for a day!

Both events combined attracted 30 people and raised a total of £120 for Diabetes UK's national scheme and the Peacehaven event was especially popular with those who live to the east of Brighton.
