E-Mail Training

After having spoken to the group on the meeting on May 1st, 12 enthusiastic members descended on the CSV Media Clubhouse at BBC Southern Counties Radio on Wednesday 9th May to begin a computer training course - entitled First-Time Online - designed to equip them with the skills to use internet and email to maximum benefit. This day was kindly offered exclusively to those who attended the meeting and was free of charge to all who attended, with a view to connecting the group online and allowing greater communication between us.

Trainees spent either a morning or afternoon session navigating their way around the computers in CSV's training suite and started their learning with a specific program provided by BBC Webwise. The day gave people the chance to taste the content of the course before committing to further sessions and also swap ideas and contacts from within the group.

Although the day's sessions were offered exclusively to the group, CSV will be continuing their weekly program every Wednesday in both the morning and afternoon. Others are welcome to join the new trainees at any point during the training, as First-Time Online is an ongoing-project and available to any beginners who wants to learn how to use email and the internet.
