Our 2010 Diary
Here's what's happening in the next few months ... please come along and join us! Newcomers especially welcome, it would be great to meet you!
Wednesday 10th February: Blow away those Winter Blues
Winter is nearly over, spring is on the way! One more chance to explore the sights of Sussex in the company of a friendly group of people. We'll be walking for about 2 miles around the Ouse Estuary Nature Reserve (shorter trip if the wind is too cold). It's a great area for bird watching - but no loos on route!
Meet at the bus stop at the Drove in Newhaven at 11am (leaving at 11.10). The 12 bus will stop at the Drove (stop after Sainsbury’s) and should be covered by ordinary Brighton and Hove bus tickets. Cars should be parked in Sainsbury’s and there are loos in the store. Be warned - the walk is in an exposed area so wrap up warm.
It'd be great to see you there - simply turn up or contact Kathy on 01273 581220 for more information. Click here to go to our 'Support for Adults' page.
Tuesday 16th February: The Masons - the History, the Rituals, and the Handshakes!
Come along and join us for a morning's tour of Brighton's Masonic Grand Lodge where we'll get a fascinating insight into the little known world of Masonry. We'll be shown around the beautiful building (some of which is original art deco), and there'll be a chance to find out about the society's work, history, and those curious rituals.
We'll be meeting 10.30am at the Lodge. If you'd like to come along please contact Diane on 01273 302605 as we'd like to know numbers. Newcomers more than welcome! Click here to go to our 'Support for Adults' page.
Tuesday 23rd February: Social/Information/Drink for our 18-30 group
Why not come along and meet the 18-30 group at the Al Duomo Italian Restaurant (7 Pavilion Buildings, Brighton, BN1 1EE) between 7.30 - 9pm? The idea is simply to talk about the highs and lows of diabetes and whatever topics people wish to bring up - travelling, alcohol, exercise and so on. It's a chance to ask questions, share information, and get to know each other - over a free drink of your favourite tipple! We're informal and friendly, and keen to meet anyone new to diabetes (or new to the area). Drop us an email to let us know you're interested or just turn up. Here's a map. We look forward to meeting you! Click here to go to the 'Support for 18's-30's' page.
