Churchill Square Awareness Stand

After all that Christmas and New Year malarky, it's always difficult to get back into the swing of things. So the group greatly appreciates those who came along to help us raise awareness of Diabetes UK's Measure Up Campaign and raise awareness of the need for retinal screening in the area, for all who need it.

Ironically located right next to Millie's Cookies (our new-found willpower helped to no end!), the stand was placed at the west side of Chruchill Square shopping centre on Tuesday 8th January. Volunteers from the group talked with passers-by (in-between shop-hopping through the January sales) about the group and diabetes and also offered various free blood glucose monitors, kindly donated by Roche. Our thanks also to Roche, and Wendy Mapelsdon for representing them, for the donation of two large pasting tables which will benefit the group at future events.

Thanks to the following for helping out on the day: Kathy Doughty, Nagi Gilada, Alex Hawkey, John Impett, Heather Jackson, Brian and Diane Knight, Andy Normansell, Jo and Penny Postage, Ian Scott, Amanda Want, Jenny Wilmott and Heather Young.

Our appreciation also goes out to all Churchill Square, specifically Lucy Forrester from the management side of the centre.
