Young Adults' Chessington Trip
Check out our full gallery of photos from the day!

The Great British Summer of 2007 has been a memorable one for all the wrong reasons - and being true to the Great British way of life, we're talking about the weather here. So after the downpours and gale-force winds that have graced the country over the last few months, nobody was sure how a trip to Chessington on the first day of September (where DID the summer go?!) would fare. As it happened, the weather was most definitely on-side, much to the relief of the eight young adults who made the trek from Brighton to Chessington World of Adventures!

The group took every opportunity to relive their youths (or for some, live the theme park experience for the first time!) on practically every ride the park has to offer - from the magical Professor Burp's Bubble Works to the terrifying Dragon's Fury to the retro sub-park that is Beanoland (I kid you not!!), with dodgems and a set of swings fully armed with a water-plume that ensured no-one escaped without being soaked!

A brilliant day was had by all, many of whom hadn't met each other before - and what better way to get to know someone than screaming at the top of your lungs as you plunge down thirty feet through a dragon's mouth into a pool of water on Dragon River?! Even though the park supposedly closes each day at 6pm, we hung around for a good forty minutes beyond that and dried off from the various soakings we'd had on the above, Billy Whizzer's Swings and the tremendous Rameses' Revenge! Growing old will happen regardless - growing up, however, is optional!

If you're interested in joining us at - or have any suggestions for - any future events, please contact us. We doubt the sun will be with us much longer, so keep your ideas seasonal if you can - then again, we could be on the beach at Christmas with a barbeque if climate change has a say on the matter!
