News:

Children and Families/Young Adults sub-groups launching soon! - specific sub-groups will soon be launched to support children living with diabetes and their families and for young adults aged 18-30. The groups will contain the opportunity for discussion as well as information that is more likely to appeal and be relevant to those target groups. The Children and Families group will launch on Tuesday 14th July at The New Madeira Hotel, Marine Parade, Brighton - from 7:30-9pm - with a talk from Dr Shankar Kanumakala from The Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital and a whole host of other information and activites to get involved in. The Young Adults sub-group will follow shortly, with details coming soon.

How much BOUNCE have you got? Orbing! - the group will be hosting a sponsored 'bounce' down the hills of the Devils Dyke, Hove, in aid of islet-cell transplant research, which is one of the most promising upcoming treatments for Type 1 diabetes (read this article for more information). 'Orbing' is simple - climb inside a giant inflatable ball, get strapped in and then - get pushed down a hill! Not something for the faint-hearted but a very exciting opportunity to raise some awareness and money for a very worthwhile cause. View the flyer here and contact us to get involved.

Walk the Extra Mile fundraiser - the group would like to thank everyone who attended our sponsored Walk the Extra Mile event on Sunday 14th June at Preston Park, Brighton. Over £3000 was raised for Diabetes UK on the day, which was launched by former Mayoress of Brighton and Hove, Carol Theobald. Watch out for more information about the event coming soon.
